Setting the IP Address of the PC

In order to determine which IP addresses are allowed in your network or locally in your PC, and
to carry out the necessary settings on your PC, contact the system administrator beforehand.
The IP address of the computer only has to be set when the FA45 Code Reader is directly connected with the
computer (see „Electrical Installation, page 54) and the computer still has no IP address. In all other cases, the
IP address of the FA45 Code Reader only has to be adjusted to that of the computer (see page 76).
To set the IP address of the computer, carry out the following procedure in the operating system.
1. Click on Start  System Control  Network  LAN Connection to open the window with information on
connection to network.
2. In the list then appearing „This connection requires following elements" select the option „Internet Protocol
(TCP/IP)" and then click the button „Characteristics".
3. In the following window set the desired IP address of the PC and the sub-network data.
4. Click on OK to save the settings.
