PERFORMANCE DESCRIPTION OF THE POWER GENERATOR
3.1.
Definition of the device class
The GEKO/EISEMANN power generator is part of the device class of power generating units with an
internal combustion engine and an Asynchronous generator and is designed for the generation of
400/230 V, 50 Hz in the commercial and private environment. The input supply feed comes from a
portable distribution network.
The power generator is characterized particularly by its robust design and the IP 54 protection class.
The power generator with asynchronous generator has a special starting booster for heavy-starting
consumers and low distortion for operating electronic consumers.
3.2.
Intended use
•
The power generator produces electrical energy in the context of stand-by operation for feed-
ing into a portable distribution system.
•
Connect electric consumers only up to the total power specified on the rating plate. You will
find the rating plate of the left-hand side below the power generator control box.
•
Please note the specifications for voltage and frequency.
•
Note the start/inrush current on inductive consumers.
•
The loop impedance as the sum of all connected lines may not be greater than 1.5 Ω as per ISO
8528-8. That results in cable lengths of up to 60 meters with a cable cross section of 1.5 mm²
and up to maximum 100 m with a cable cross-section of 2.5 mm². Use only approved, standard-
ized extension cords.
•
Electronically controlled devices can be sensitive to over- or under-voltage. These voltage fluc-
tuations can cause interference or damage to these devices. Consult the manufacturer to find
out if its device is suitable for power generator operation.
•
Operate the power generator only outdoors. Comply with the minimum clearances stated in
this document. The fresh air and exhaust air openings must be free.
•
Note the selected mains configuration. If your power generator is provided with a residual cur-
rent device (RCD), it must be properly grounded before commissioning/starting.
•
To ensure proper use, read and observe the operating instructions for the power generator and
the motor drive.
•
Comply with the requirements for servicing and maintenance.
