8. Switching the machine on

Once the machine has been properly set up and
connected in accordance with these operating
instructions, it can be prepared for dispensing
beverages:

First of all, please check whether the machine
needs cleaning as specified in chapter 13.
a) Filling ground coffee

Open the cover of the ground coffee container
with the "Burg" type key and fill with filter coffee.
Ensure that the ground coffee is not
compressed during this process.

Then, close the cover.

b) Switching the machine on

Ensure that the water tap is open.

Open the front access door. This provides
access to a key-operated switch.

Turn the key-operated switch to the "Operator"
or "Manager" position. The machine is now
switched on.

Close the front access door.
While the machine is heating up, the following
messages alternate on the display:
Prog. : 0 l
**** PLEASE WAIT ****
Prog. : 0 l
If a cleaning message appears, read the instructions
in chapter 13 "cleaning".

9. Switching the machine off

The machine should be switched off over night and if
it is not being used for a prolonged period of time.
This is done ...

via the automatic "Off after cleaning" function
(see chapter 13 "Cleaning")

via the automatic time switch (chapter 11.j)

by manually switching the key-operated switch
to "0".

If the machine is not used for a longer period, the
water tap should be shut off. If the machine is also
disconnected from the power supply for a longer
period, the machine's clock will stop.
When starting the machine again, you should first
reset the clock (see chapter 11.m). If desired, our
Technical Service staff can fit a back-up battery.
