MultiControl II duo and MultiControl II quadro assembly instructions
6.5.7.3
SPP Internal collision detection
The premium version of MultiControl II duo and MultiControl II quadro contains
proprietary "Smart Product Protection" (SPP) technology developed RK
Rose+Krieger GmbH. It significantly reduces the risk of product damage in the
customer application. The protection not only relates to connected drives but
also to the complete connection design.
In the default setting, the movement is stopped after detecting an obstacle, and
movement in the last direction of travel is blocked. Therefore, you must first
release the system in the opposite direction. Afterwards, system travel is fully
enabled again.
SPP
is
deactivated
threshold is set to 0 mA in both directions of travel). You can
activate
collision
→ "Collision detection (SPP)" menu item by configuring a sensitivity for each
travel direction. The following configuration options are available for you:
• High: Detection threshold 50 mA (default value for Multilift II)
• Medium: Detection threshold 150 mA (default value for Multilift II)
• Low: Detection threshold 250 mA (default value for Multilift II)
• User-defined: Detection threshold configurable from 0 mA to 4000 mA
If drive group management is activated (only available
in the Premium version), the SPP function must be
separately configured for each corresponding drive
group.
SPP does not comply with regulations that apply for
personal safety. As such, SPP is explicitly not personal
protection.
Depending on the configured detection threshold, there
is a clamping/crushing hazard.
If the travel direction matches the direction of force,
then the crushing hazard is deemed significantly
greater.
SPP can only recognise obstacles after the acceleration
phase (after approx. 1 sec in the default setting).
