Slow sync

Normal flash photography of night scenes or indoors
usually leaves the background underexposed because it
involves relatively fast shutter speeds.
Set for slow sync , the camera will use a slower
shutter speed for the background to register in the
picture, the foreground being lit by the flash.

• To avoid camera shake, it is advisable to use a tripod
or other firm support.

Flash off

There are occasions when a flash would disturb the
mood of a scene. To avoid this, set the camera to
"flash off".
• Take care to avoid camera shake when the blinking
red LED signals a relatively slow shutter speed that is
not hand-holdable. In that case, use a tripod.
