Maintenance
Warning!
Improper maintenance can result in life-threatening danger and risk of injury:
The owner is responsible for correct installation and functional inspection of the
escape door. According to EN 1125 and EN 179, an escape door must be inspect-
ed at least once per month for safe function and the inspection results must be
recorded. Requirements established by inspection authorities must be complied
with.
Important!
Property damage and impaired function due to incorrect lubrication: The lock
is equipped with permanent lubrication during production. No lubricants may be
applied to the lock or sprayed into the lock. Apply a fine film of silicon grease to
the latch sliding surface if necessary.
Conducting maintenance tasks
1
Ensure that all parts of the lock (lock, door fitting and striking plate) work
safely.
2
Ensure that all parts of the lock are clean in order to prevent functional
impairment.
3
Ensure that all components of the system still correspond to the list of
approved components originally supplied with the system.
4
Ensure that all operating elements are mounted safely.
5
Using a dynamometer, ensure that the actuating force to release the escape
door lock has not changed significantly (max. 10%) since the initial installa-
tion.
6
When working on a fire door, ensure that it has not been modified since the
initial installation.
