7. Battery Operation
Operation with alkaline batteries
• Open the battery compartment at the rear of the device by pushing it open in the direction of the
arrow.
• Push the switch in the battery compartment to the „Alkaline" position.
• Insert four batteries of type LR6 (size AA) into the battery compartment. Ensure that all batteries are
inserted according to the polarity indication at the rear of the radio. Close the battery compartment
again.
When using alkaline batteries, put the battery switch in the alkaline position.
Otherwise, the batteries or the radio may take severe damage.
When the batteries are flat, the battery status display lights up red briefly. The radio then
switches off automatically. In this case you may be unable to switch on the radio again until
the batteries are replaced with new ones or the radio is connected to the mains adapter.
If the radio is not used for an extended period of time, we recommend removing the batteries
from the radio.
For economic reasons, we recommend operating the device with the mains adapter and
only using the batteries occasionally or in standby operation. If the radio is often used with
batteries, we recommend using rechargeable batteries.
