Configuring the bus system

The configuration steps laid out in this section are superior to the
settings on the bus coupler which have already been described (see
"Making settings" on page 67) and are part of the bus master
configuration of the entire system.
The work described here may only be carried out by qualified
electronics personnel and in compliance with the operator's
documentation on configuring the bus master, as well as
applicable technical standards, directives, and safety regulations.
Before starting configuration, the following steps must have been
carried out and completed on the bus coupler:

You have assembled the bus coupler and the valve system
(see "Assembly" on page 61).

You have connected the bus coupler (see "Connecting the bus
coupler electrically" on page 63).

You have carried out all the settings (see "Making settings"
on page 67).
Configuration error
An incorrectly configured bus coupler will lead to malfunctions in the
system and may damage the system.

The configuration may only be carried out by qualified
electronics personnel!
O
Configure the bus system in accordance with your system
requirements, the manufacturer's specifications, and all valid
technical standards, directives, and safety regulations. Take the
operator's documentation on configuring the bus master into account.
The operating behavior, relevant objects and parameters to configure
the bus coupler, including possible settings and functions are listed
in the "Appendix – Bus master configuration", starting from page 80.
