Intermediate drive shaft
Distance a:
9.5 ~ 10.5 mm (0.37 ~ 0.41 in)
NOTE:
Support the intermediate housing with
steel blocks 1 and press the driven cou-
pling shaft.
3. Install:
Oil seal 1 [8 mm (0.31 in)]
Oil seal 2 [10 mm (0.39 in)]
Distance a:
10.3 ~ 10.7 mm (0.41 ~ 0.42 in)
Distance b:
1.6 ~ 2.0 mm (0.06 ~ 0.08 in)

Intermediate housing installation

1. Install:
Intermediate housing
Shim
Installation steps:
Install the intermediate housing.
Measure the clearance a at each bolt
hole.
Install the suitable shim from the table
below.
Clearance a
0 ~ 0.2 mm
(0 ~ 0.008 in)
0.3 ~ 0.7 mm
(0.012 ~ 0.028 in)
0.8 ~ 1.2 mm
(0.031 ~ 0.047 in)
1.3 ~ 2.0 mm
(0.051 ~ 0.079 in)
NOTE:
Install the shim(s) to the original position if
the intermediate housing is not replaced.
