1.1. General Information
Please note the following features when install-
ing and setting up your Behnke door intercom
device:
▸
Operation with an analogue extension to a
telephone system, an analogue landline con-
nection or other a / b ports.Note: When using
other a / b ports, please make sure that you
fulfil the corresponding requirements of an
analogue extension, such as busy tone, DTMF
transparency, etc.
▸
The operation is possible without an addi-
tional power supply.
▸
The door intercom devices work in full-duplex
mode and can be switched to semi-duplex
and simplex (may require an additional power
supply).
Installation requirements
▸
The perfect installation height for your device
is a position that enables operating the door
intercom at a distance of 30-50 cm with a
person standing in front of the device being
able to easily speak into the microphone.
▸
Please keep the largest possible distance
between
microphone and speaker. This will give you
the best possible voice quality in full-duplex
mode.
▸
Modules for reverse-side mounting (=mount-
ing behind an existing wall) require suffi-
ciently large slits for sound to enter in front
of the microphone and for sounds to exit
from the speaker (at least 75% of the speaker
membrane surface for sound to exit or 75% for
50
the sound to enter the microphone housing).
Please see dimension drawings on www.
behnke-online.de/downloads
▸
Please always mount a reverse-side mounting
module in a flush way ( without distance)
behind your front wall and do not forget to
install the included seal between front wall
and mounting module.
Outside mounting
▸
When using your door intercom device on
a weather side, the Series 20 and 30 door
intercom devices should be mounted in-wall
with a rain protection cover or on-wall with a
wall-mounted housing (Please always ensure
the included seal is correctly put in place).
▸
All in-wall mounted door intercom devices
need to be well sealed against rain water
entering into the housing, esp. with an
uneven underground (e.g. using silicone).
Please leave the centre of the bottom edge of
your door intercom device open to serve as
a water drain. When using cover panels, the
cover panel needs to be sealed with a suita-
ble sealing agent against the in-wall housing
or the level surface for cavity wall mounting.
▸
For mounting in steles by third-party provid-
ers, appropriate action needs to be taken to
prevent condensation water from forming
inside the stele.
Sealings
To protect your device against dampness,
please make sure the included sealings have
been put in place correctly when installing
your door intercom device. The sealing must be
correctly placed onto the frame of the in-wall
housing or the on-wall housing! In-wall hous-
