6. Preparation
• Connect the plug of the soldering iron to the soldering iron socket [I]. The plug only fits
one way. Tighten the nut.
• Place the soldering iron in the stand [E] and wet the sponge [F] with clean water.
• Make sure the on/off switch [G] is in the off position and plug the power connector into
the mains.
• Switch the on/off switch [G] to the on-position.
Note: the default setting for the soldering station is degrees Celsius (°C).
To switch to degrees Fahrenheit (°F), switch off the station [G]. Press and hold
preset temperature button [A] number 3 (bottom one) and switch the station on
[G].
To switch back to degrees Celsius (°C), switch off the station [G]. Press and hold
preset temperature button [A] number 3 (bottom one) and switch the station on
[G] again.
• Behind the actual temperature (TMP), a small bar-graph indicates how much the actual
temperature differs from the set temperature. The number of bars decreases when actual
temperature reaches set temperature. No bars are shown when set temperature is lower
than actual temperature.
• To set the temperature of the soldering tip [D4], turn the temperature control knob [C]
clockwise (higher) or counter clockwise (lower). Temperature is indicated in the display
(SET). Temperature ranges from 150°C to 450°C.
• The station also has 3 (adjustable) preset temperatures which can be accessed by
pressing a preset temperature button [A]. Factory settings are:
PRESET 1: 200°C (392°F)

PRESET 2: 300°C (572°F)
o
PRESET 3: 400°C (752°F)
o
To adjust a preset value, simply press and hold the preset button while setting the new
preset temperature using the temperature control knob [C].
