Select the installation location for the display, so that the display is not in the effective
area of the vehicle's airbag nor in the head impact area and so that the driver does not
have to "feel through" the steering wheel while driving to operate magic control.
A suitable installation location is the sun visor or mirror. To this end, attach the fitting clip
with the two screws to the display (see L 1).
Another suitable installation location is the dashboard in the area of the blind plugs (see
L 2.1). Remove the blind plugs and make a drill hole with 4 mm diameter in the blind plug
(see L 2.3). Attach the display with the double-sided adhesive tape on the blind plug and
insert the ends of the wire into the empty connector housing. Pay attention to colour
coding (see L 2.4).
Replace the blind plugs together with the display and lay the display wire to the control
unit and insert into terminal P6 (see L 2.5, L 3, J)
Before wheel sensor teaching is started, ensure that all the tyres (incl. the spare wheel)
are filled with the correct air pressure.
1. Switch on the ignition
2. Actuate the Set-up key and depress it for about 3 seconds until you obtain a high-
pitched acoustic signal for 1 second as confirmation.
3. Release the Set-up key.
4. The symbol for the spare wheel starts to flash, and "LN5" appears on the display.
"LN5" in the display indicates that magic control is prepared to teach the optionally
obtainable MTPM-TX1 sensor.
5. You have three different possibilities to end the menu point for the spare wheel and to
get to the further teaching procedures.
a) A tyre sensor is not installed in the spare wheel.
Actuate the Check key and depress it for about 3 seconds until you receive a high-
pitched acoustic signal for 1 second as confirmation.
Magic control then switches automatically to the next teaching mode.
b) A tyre sensor is installed in the spare wheel.
Lower the pressure in the spare wheel by more than 0.2 bar. As confirmation that
the tyre sensor has been correctly taught, you receive an acoustic signal, and the
spare wheel is shown continuously on the display. "LN5" flashes on the display.
Once magic control has correctly detected the tyre sensor, it switches automatically
to the next teaching mode.
c) The tyre sensor has already already been taught.
Actuate the Check key briefly. The spare wheel symbol is shown as confirmation,
and then magic control switches automatically to the next teaching mode.
