6 Instrument Measurement
CAUTION! Risk of injury and material damage!
Any voltage higher than 30 V will lead to possible personal injury and damage to the de-
vice.
 Never apply more than 30 V between any two terminals, or between any terminal and
ground.
CAUTION! Material damage!
Exceeding the measuring range will cause possible damage to the device.
 Do not apply a voltage exceeding the measuring range to the input terminal.
CAUTION! Material damage!
Any connection with a device without cutting off its power supply will cause possible
damage to the device.
 When connecting to the device, the power supply of the device under test should be
cut off.
CAUTION! Material damage!
Pay particular attention not to connect the current signal to the input terminal. Incorrect
connection may cause damage to the instrument and the device under test.

6.1 Measuring resistance and thermal resistance (RTD)

 1. Make sure that INPUT is indicated on the
display. If not, press the Output/Input but-
ton.
 2. Press the FUN button to select the re-
sistance or thermal resistance (RTD) func-
tion.
 3. Only RTD function: Press the RANG button
to select the corresponding type of RTD.
 4. Insert one end of the test lead into the input
terminal of the instrument and connect the other end to the output terminal of the de-
vice under test. See Figure 6-1.
 5. Only RTD function: Press the °C/°F button to select the temperature unit.
The instrument starts the measurement and displays "000.00" which indicates waiting and
then displays the measurement result. Refresh rate is approximately once a second, and if
the measured value exceeds the measurement range, the LCD displays "OL".
