Checking the circulation pump

The rubber impeller of the circulation
pump is not resistant to running dry.
If the pump has been run while there was
no or insufficient cooling liquid in the cool-
ing system it may be necessary to replace
the impeller.
Make sure that there is always a spare
impeller on board.

Removing the pump cover
Proceed as follows for inspection and
replacement:
• Remove the cover from the pump by
unscrewing the screws from the hous-
ing.
Checking the circulation pump
Every 1000 operating hours, at least once every 2 years.

Removing the impeller
• Use water pump pliers to slide the
impeller from the shaft.
• Mark the impeller; if it is to be re-fitted,
the impeller must be positioned in the
housing in the same way.
