Operation
Instruments
2
When instruments are installed, the following functions will be
displayed:
• Voltmeter - this shows the battery voltage. In practice, you can
only discerne whether the battery is (more or less) charged or
discharged. However, the actual charge condition cannot be
read from a voltmeter.
• Ammeter - this indicates the charge or discharge current. In
other words, while cruising at a constant speed with constant
current consumption, this will give an indication of how much
energy is being used.
• Energy Consumption Meter - this meter measures voltage
and current against time.
So you can use this instrument to read out how much energy
is being used (current x time) and, when the battery capacity
is included, how long you can continue to cruise. This last
read out will be at the current consumption measured at that
moment.
• Charge Condition Meter - this meter electronically measures
the general charge condition of the battery during use.

When a hybrid propulsion unit is installed:
If the diesel engine is being used do not forget to open the raw
water sea cock!
The batteries for the electric motor, which then functions as a
generator, are charged up while sailing on the diesel engine. If
it is required to use the full power of the diesel engine for sailing
then the main switch must be switched off.
