Checking the V-belt
Inspect the V-belt for wear, and tear (fray-
ing and cracking). Replace a V-belt that is
in poor condition.
Check, tension or replace the V-belt only
when the motor is stopped. Do not forget
to refit the V-belt guard, where present.

Checking tension
Check the V-belt tension by moving it with
thumb and index finger. If you can move it
more than mm (
1
Ú
"), with about 1 kg (2
8
lbf) pressure, it must be re-tensioned.
Checking the V-belt
Every 100 operating hours, at least once every year.

Tensioning drive belt
To do this, loosen the bolts which secure
the water pump support to the motor one
full turn. Now push the water pump (sup-
port) outwards until the V-belt has the
necessary tension.
Re-tighten both fitting bolts.
