Verify while uncapping the first few frames, that the protrusion of the wax relative to the frame wooden border
is as high as required and parallel to both the upper and the lower end.
It may happen that in some irregularly built frames not all the cells are uncapped, especially in concave areas.
This problem may be resolved with the help of the rotary blades. In a subsequent harvest, bees will realign the
concave parts.
To speed up the work, it is possible to recover the previously uncapped frame and prepare the next one to
uncap, while working.
WARNING! IF THE KNIVES MOTION DOES NOT START IMMEDIATELY, STOP THE MACHINE AND CHECK FOR
VERTICAL MOVEMENT OF THE SHAFTS IN ORDER TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO ELECTRICAL PARTS.

5.0 MAINTENANCE

CAUTION! MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS SHOULD BE CARRIED OUT AFTER STOPPING THE MACHINE AND
DISCONNECTING ELECTRIC POWER.
No special maintenance is required.
Gearboxes are permanently lubricated and do not require topping up or replacement of lubricants during their
life. However, if it is necessary to replace lubricants, consider the following: VF30 = 45 gr ESSO Glycolube
Range 220 or equivalent lubricant.
At the end of each work day, clean the bushings at the base and the top of the knives shafts and lubricate with
vaseline.
The machine should be washed with warm water and mild detergents of the type commercially available for
stainless steel, if necessary.
Do not in any case clean the machine with steam jets.
CAUTION!
1) BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WHEN HANDLING THE KNIFE BLADES, OR ROTARY BLADES, E.G. DURING
WASHING.
2) DO NOT DIRECT WATER JETS TOWARDS ELECTRICAL PARTS.
If you expect not to have to use the machine for prolonged periods of time, check its mechanical parts'
efficiency and carry out any required inspection, replacement or servicing to ensure that the machine will be
ready to work the next time that it is started.
Before prolonged periods of inactivity, coat chrome-plated parts with a film of paraffin oil and cover the
machine with a tarpaulin.
