Wiring Connections for Options

Options available for the IND131 and IND331terminals that require external connections include the
following:
Figure 2-42 shows where each of these options is located in the DIN, panel-mount and J-box
versions and Figure 2-43 their locations in the harsh enclosure. Connections for each of these
options are described in the following sections.
2.4.5.1.

COM2 Connections

The COM2 serial port is part of the COM2/Discrete I/O option board. There are two versions of this
board depending upon the version of discrete output devices. Both versions support the same
COM2 functions. The COM2/Discrete I/O (Relay) option board is shown in Figure 2-45 and the

Note: Special protection is required for incendive wiring connections to the IND131xx and
IND331xx terminals when installed inside Division 2 or Zone 2/22 hazardous areas. Refer
to the Division 2 and Zone 2/22 Installation Manual, 64068795 on the Resource CD for
more details.
