Copy and change automatic
welding spots
After entering the automatic welding spot that you want to copy
or change proceed as follows:
• Keep pressing the WELDING MODE SELECTION key for 3 sec-
onds; this operation will take the machine to the manual and
the synergic mode so that all the parameters memorized for
this spot can be corrected. More than one setting may be
changed this way and automatically saved by writing over the
one set previously (therefore changing it) or else it can be memo-
rized in another programme (see paragraph "Creating and
memorizing new automatic jobs"). Use the PROGRAMME
SCROLLING key to select the position where you want to
memorize the welding spot. Press the RUN/MEM key for memo-
rizing until the wording "Sto" appears on the PROGRAMME
DISPLAY (dVP).
To delete an automatic welding point
To delete a memorized automatic welding point for AUTOMATIC
type work related to any process, it is necessary, with welding
turned off, to proceed in the following manner:
• Position the machine on the automatic welding point you want
to delete;
• Press the RUN/MEM button for 5 seconds;
• On the display will appear "CLR";
• When you stop pressing the button, the automatic welding point
selected will be deleted.
Having deleted the automatic welding point, the machine will
position itself on a valid automatic welding point. If there are no
valid automatic welding points, the machine will display "NA1",
as happens when you enter AUTOMATIC mode and there are no
automatic welding points present. The free space can be occu-
pied by a new automatic welding point or it can be left free to be
used as a sequence terminator (see paragraph "Welding se-
quences").
How to use automatic welding spots
The automatic points are contained in one memory position (MAX
99 points) so they can be listed in sequence with the UP/DOWN
commands on the torch; with the processes unchanged, the pas-
sage from one point to another can occur during the welding; to
allow this, there is a programmable "ACS" parameter for the lin-
ear connection of the synergic points during the passages.
Welding sequence
It is possible to perform welding jobs using a sequence with more
than one automatic welding point previously memorized by the
user. It is also possible to change the automatic point during
welding, as long as an up/down type of torch is used.
CONCEPT OF "SEQUENCE OF AUTOMATIC
WELDING POINTS"
A "sequence of automatic welding points" is a group of a certain
number of automatic welding points saved by the user. The group
is marked off by leaving an empty automatic welding point at the
beginning of the group and another empty one at the end.
MEMORIZING A WELDING SEQUENCE
To set a welding sequence, you must:
1) Check that you have a free point before the first automatic
point (before position 1 and after position 99 there are always
two free automatic welding points that mark off the sequence.
Therefore, it is not necessary to insert an empty point in posi-
tion 1 or position 99);
2) Set the machine to the program desired, in MANUAL or SYN-
ERGIC mode with the settings you intend to use for the auto-
matic point;
3) Press the SPECIAL FUNCTIONS button to access the spe-
cial functions;
4) Select by means of the ENCORDER 1 knob, the ACS param-
eter;
5) With the ENCODER 2 knob, set the slope in A/s you want to
use to shift towards that automatic welding point;
6) Exit the special functions by again pressing the SPECIAL
FUNCTIONS button;
7) Save the current settings in an automatic welding point (see
paragraph "Creating and memorizing new automatic welding
points");
8) Repeat the procedure from point 2 for all the automatic weld-
ing points you wish to add;
9) Check that there is a free point after the last point inserted or
else delete it (see paragraph "Deleting an automatic welding
point").
USING THE SEQUENCES
To activate a welding sequence, beginning with an Mig/Mag,
Pulsed or Double Pulsed process, press the TYPE OF WORK
button to enter the AUTOMATIC mode. This involves:
• Memorizing the last active non-automatic process before en-
tering the AUTOMATIC mode;
• Selecting the last automatic point used (e.g. the last one memo-
rized), or, if this does not exist, the first existing one. Keep in
mind that it is possible that the point belongs to a different
process from the one presently selected.
When welding is not active, the LIST PROGRAMS buttons lo-
cated on the front panel list all the automatic welding points that
have been memorized, changing the process automatically when
the point requires it. With the right button (+) and the left button (-
) on the torch (if it is of the up/down type) it is only possible to
move among the points belonging to the same sequence.
Pressing the TYPE OF WORK button takes you back to the last
active setting before entering AUTOMATIC mode, while chang-
ing the welding process if necessary.
After you select an automatic welding point, it is possible to be-
gin welding within the relative sequence. The LIST PROGRAMS
buttons on the panel are disabled while the right (+) and left (-)
buttons on the torch remain active. If the torch is not of the up/
down type, it is not possible to change the automatic point
during the welding.
When the welding is active, pressing the right (+) and left (-) but-
tons on the torch let you pass from one automatic welding point
to the previous or next one withing the same sequence, respect-
ing the limits mentioned in "Limits in using the sequences".
If pressing the right (+) or left (-) button brings you to the end of a
sequence, the sequence resumes from the opposite end.
The passage from one automatic point to another is made while
linking to the line current memorized by means of a current ramp.
The slope is memorized as part of the special functions of the
automatic welding point for which it is intended and is therefore
the active ACS parameter when the automatic welding point was
memorized.
