Registration of the Artex Fixator
When using the fixator for the first time, the upper
and lower jaw scans must be assigned manually to
the vestibular scan by means of the 3-point
method.
This manual assigning is used for the latter auto-
matic pre-alignment of the jaw scans. The manual
method can be repeated any time, as required.
The scanner must be calibrated before
using for the first time (please refer to
section 5.7)!
NOTE:
Faulty results!
▷ Check the articulator being used to articulate
the models with the Splitex calibration key and
recalibrate, as required (see "Calibration Spli-
tex" Manual).
▷ For articulation of the jaw models used for reg-
istration, set the supporting pin of the articu-
lator to zero.
Requirements of the models used for the initial 3-
point assignment:
_ The models must have been plastered into the
Artex CR articulator.
_ Sufficient interlocking and supporting of upper
and lower jaw to each other, to ensure success-
ful allocation.

NOTE:
Faulty registration of the fixator!
▷ Always place jaw models with plaster base in
the scanner. Do not use models with Artex
Noplast.
▷ Set three model marks using a small router (rec-
ommended).
