9. Commissioning the Model

a) Inserting and connecting the flight battery
The removing the cabin hood, the flight battery is secured in the battery slider
with velcro (1) at the front of the fuselage. To prevent it from sliding forwards or
backwards in flight, velcro must also be attached to the battery and battery
slider (2).
The exact position of the battery is determined by the centre of gravity. For this,
see the following chapter "Setting the Centre of Gravity".

b) Setting the Centre of Gravity

The flight battery must be installed in the battery compartment so that the centre
of gravity is approx. 77 mm behind the leading edge of the wing.
To do so, mark the corresponding centre of gravity position on the ribs of the
wing. old the assembled and ready-to-fly model at the measured positions with
your index fingers from below.
If the centre of gravity is set correctly, the model should be slightly leaning
forward.
IMPORTANT!
Always measure the centre of gravity with the battery compartment
lid in place.
For the first flights, please set the centre of gravity at 77 mm. Then you can
determine the optimum centre of gravity by performing several flights and adjust
it.
During flight, the battery (1) must be secured with adhesive tape (2) so it does
not come off. In addition to the velcro tape, attach a strip of adhesive tape to
the bottom of the battery and to the battery slide to effectively prevent sliding to
the front or the rear.
When you have determined the centre of gravity, mark the flight battery and the
fuselage using a black water-resistant pen (2). Thus, when you change the
flight battery, you do not have to determine the centre of gravity again.
