Protecting the motor
WARNING
Danger from electrical voltage!
»
Observe the 5 rules of electrical safety when conducting all kind of work on the motor (see section 2.5)!
Avoid phase failures:
If using 3-phase motors, use an all-pole C or K circuit breaker (see name plate for current consumption).
8.6
Earth wire transition resistance according to EN 61800 -5-1
CAUTION
»
Check compliance with the impedance specifi cations as per EN 61800-5-1 for the earth connection circuit in the
end application.
»
Connect a further protective earth wire via the additional connection point on the device, depending on the
installation situation. The earth wire connection point is located on the housing. It has a bore hole and an earth
wire symbol.
8.7
Residual current circuit breaker
Only use universal RCDs (type B or B+).
Personal protection is not possible when operating the device with RCDs, as with frequency inverters.
RECOMMENDATION
Use RCDs with a trigger threshold of 300 mA and delayed trigger (super-resistant, K characteristic).
This prevents pulsed charging currents from the capacitors in the integrated EMC fi lter when activating the vol-
tage supply.
