10.2 Changing air filters: PP 45 units
Change the air filters when the filter change
indicator appears – after 4000 operating
hours/approx. 6 months. Always replace
both air filters on each ventilation unit.
1. Disconnect unit from the power supply at
all poles (switch off the mains fuse) and
secure it against being switched back on
again. Fit a warning notice to avoid the
unit being switched back on.
2. Remove front cover [1] by gently pressing
up locking lever on bottom of unit and
evenly pulling cover to the front and out.
Do not twist it.
3. Remove plug [19] of motor connection
cable.
NOTICE
Damage to pull-out belt [5] and filter seat if
pulled jerkily and torn. Pull slide-in module
evenly and carefully out of wall sleeve. Do
not pull jerkily / tear. Replace pull-out belt if
damaged.
4. Use pull-out belt [5] to pull entire slide-in
module out of wall sleeve and put down
with care. Support slide-in module from
below with one hand.
5. Pull the two air filters [7] and [12] out of
the filter seats.
6. Insert new air filters in the two filter seats.
The filters must be inserted behind the
3 brackets of the filter holder and must be
flush.
7. Support slide-in module from below with
one hand and slide into wall sleeve. The
profile seal [9] is used for fixing and avoi-
dance of false air. The motor connection
cable must not be strained when installed.
8. Fix motor connection cable in notch at side.
9. Insert connector plug of motor connection
cable.
10. Before putting on the front cover, the
shutter must always be open. Do this by
switching on the unit and/or opening the
shutter.

11. Attach front cover [1] at top in two housing
studs and swivel down until cover engag-
es on locking lever.
12. Activate mains fuses and remove warning
sign.
The ventilation units start up.
13. Acknowledge the filter change on a con-
trol/the RC ventilation unit:
Press
RLS 45 O
RLS 45 K
Press the
keys together for 5 seconds.
PP 45 RC
Press SET key for 5 seconds.
Job done! The filter change is complete.
10.3 Cleaning PP 45 ventilation unit
● Have ventilation unit cleaned by a specialist
every 2 years.

● Clean internal grille, fan and electronics
cover with a dry cloth.
Clean all PP 45 units as follows:
1. Take out slide-in module Chapter 10.2,
points 1. to 4.
2. Before taking out the two filter seats [6],
remove the two plastic rivets. To do this,
press out the rivet pin from inside with
a sharp object, press pin all the way out
from the outside and take off complete
rivet.
3. Remove the two filter seats [6]. Press
together the two locking levers of each
filter seat and pull the filter seat out of the
slide-in module.
4. Pull fan unit [8] out of slide-in module,
blow out, if necessary suction clean and
clean with a dry cloth.
5. Pull ceramic heat exchanger [11] out of
slide-in module – you may have to angle
the wall sleeve slightly to remove.
