Capacitance measurement

1. Set the range selection switch to position „CAP".
2. Connect the black measuring line with the COM socket and the red measuring line with the V/
Hz%/Ω/Cap/ºC socket until they are level with the measuring instrument.
If the displayed reading does not equal „0", press the "REL" button to reset the value
to "0".
3. Now connect the measuring prods to the object to be measured.
4. The current measurement value is shown on the display.
Sound level measurement
The sound level measurements are designed for comparative measurements in domestic applications,
not for professional uses. The measurement is done according to weighting curve C (linear).
Measurement lines are not required.
Take care with loud ambient sound levels. Your hearing could be damaged. Be
sure to always wear hearing protection in loud environments!
1. Set the range selection switch to position „dBC".
2. Now hold the multitester with the display facing forwards in the direction of the sound source to be
measured. The best measurement readings are achieved by putting the multitester onto a stable
surface, while keeping a distance of ca. 1 m. This ensures that the sound waves' course is not
affected. The distance from multitester to sound source should not be less than 1 m.
3. The measured sound level will be displayed on the display in dB(C) (decibel according to weighting
curve C).
Humidity measurement
The humidity measurements are designed for comparative measurements in domestic applications,
not for professional uses. The measurements are only to be conducted in a range of 25% to 95% (not
condensing) and are done automatically.
1. Position the multitester in the environment you would like to measure. The best measurement results
are achieved by leaving the multitester for about 15 min. in the environment you want to measure.
2. The measured relative humidity is displayed in % in the top area of the display.

Temperature measurement

The temperature measurements are designed for comparative measurements in domestic
applications, not for professional uses. The included K type temperature sensor allows you to measure
temperatures from -20 °C to +250 °C in 2 measurement ranges. The measured temperature may only
contact the tip of the metallic sensor shaft.
• Normal ambient temperature is measured continuously, just like humidity, and is
displayed in the top right part of the display.
• The MT-51's total measurement range (-20 °C to +1300 °C) can be utilised with
optional K-type temperature sensors.
