5.12. Diode Test
WARNING: To avoid electric shock, do not test any diode that
has voltage on it.
Follow these steps to check diodes:

3. Insert the black test lead into the /CAP -input jack (-) for
Inductance measurements and the red test lead into /CAP
-input jack (+) for resistance measurements.
4. Touch the test probe tips to the diode or semiconductor
junction you wish to test.
5. Note the meter reading.
Reverse the probe polarity by switching probe position:
- Shows the display a measured value and in the other polarity
shows "OL" = diode is good.
- If both readings show "OL" = the diode is open.
- Show both readings very small values or "0" = shorted diode

When transistor measurement has been completed,
disconnect the connection between the testing clips and
the circuit under test and remove the testing clips away
from the input terminals of the Meter.
