F6: To select an engine with
a) unequal spark plug gap or uneven number of cylinders
(e.g.: motorcycles)
or
b) symmetrical spark plug gap and even number of cylin-
ders (activated only if single-spark coils without cam-
shaft sensor (softkey F5) was selected).
Remarks:
In case of engines with unequal spark plug gap and EFS without
camshaft sensor (with crankshaft sensor), the dynamic compres-
sion measurement cannot be performed. These engines are not
included in the automatic recognition of the type of engine either.
4.6.3 Selecting the TDC sensor system
Shown in the example:
2-pin system with 1st mark at 0.0° (= TDC) and second at -10.0°
(= 10.0° after TDC).
F1/2: To select the TDC sensor system: if no TDC sensor exists,
single-pin system, two-pin system, a number of symmetri-
cal marks
F3/4: To set the position of the first TDC sensor marking.
Fine setting: press key briefly
Coarse setting: press key longer
F5/6: To set the position of the second TDC sensor marking:
Fine setting: press key briefly
Coarse setting: press key longer or set the number of
markings with symmetrical TDC sensor systems. Possible:
2 to 8 markings.
Remarks:
The MOT automatically recognizes whether a pin or a notch is
involved. If 1-pin or 2-pin system is indicated on the Motortester,
this also applies for 1-notch or 2-notch systems.
