Notes on stainless steel (risk of corrosion!)
● Please note! Even high-quality stainless steel can corrode if handled improperly. Salt, acids, chlo
rine, iodine and food residues destroy the protective coating and can result in corrosion and pit
ting, also with high-quality stainless steel!
● The stainless steel surface creates a new protective layer immediately after damage, but only if
air or oxygen-rich water has time to react with the surface.
● If residues, e.g. lime, protein or starches are not completely removed, it prevents air or oxygen-
rich water from getting to the stainless steel surface. A protective coating cannot be formed and
this causes corrosion e.g. pitting damage, even on high-quality steel. Therefore, clean thoroughly
to prevent residues from sticking.

● Attention! Whilst cleaning the cooking hob, make sure that no contamination or water ingresses
into the burner.
. Clean the housing using grease-dissolving cleaner or a special stainless steel cleaner.

● Allow the appliance to cool down.
● Do not clean cast iron grates and burner cap in
the dishwasher! Do not use abrasive cleaning
agent, otherwise risk of corrosion!
. Use a brass wire brush to remove burnt-in
foods on the cast iron grates and burner caps.
If the contamination cannot be removed using the
brass wire brush:
. Clean cast iron grates and burner caps in the
sink using grease-dissolving detergent.
. Thoroughly dry the cast iron grates and burner
caps.
. In order to prevent corrosion on the cast iron
grate, apply care emulsion or vegetable oil.
