7.4 Sanding belt replacement
1. Make sure the switch is in the OFF position and the cord is disconnected from the
power source.
2. Remove the upper guard locking knob (Fig. 10 - 3) and the upper guard
(Fig. 10 - 2).
3. While holding the side cover in place, remove the three screws and washers
holding the cover in place (Fig. 7 - 5. Fig. 8 - 1 & 2). Remove the side cover.
4. Push the shaft guard (Fig. 10 - 1) forward towards the work table (this will shift
the middle roller forwards and create slack in the belt). While pushing the shaft
guard forwards, slide the belt off the rollers with your other hand.
5. Place a new belt on the rollers. Check that the arrow on the back of the new belt is
pointed in the direction of travel.
6. Adjust tracking accordingly and reinstall the side cover, upper guard, and upper
guard locking knob.

Cause
• Sanding belt/disc has been stored in an incorrect
environment.
• Sanding belt/disc has been damaged or folded.
• Sanding belt/disc grit is too coarse for the desired finish.
• Workpiece sanded across the grain.
• Too much sanding force on workpiece.
• Workpiece held still against belt-disc for too long.
• Too much pressure against belt/disc.
• Sanding softwood.
• Sanding grit is too fine.
• Using too much pressure.
• Work held still for too long.
• Sanding disc/belt loaded with debris.
• Not plugged in to an outlet.
• Defective power switch.
• Motor, capacitor, or wiring problem.
• Short circuit in line, cord or plug.
• Short circuit in motor or loose connections.
• Incorrect fuses or circuit breakers in power line.
• Motor overloaded.
• Extension cord too long with an insufficient gauge.
7.5 Sanding disc replacement
1. Make sure the switch is in the OFF position and the cord is disconnected from the
power source.
2. Remove the sanding disc table by removing the two locking knobs on either side
of the sanding disc. Remove the disc dust port by removing the three screws and
washers.
3. Remove the used sanding disc. Wipe the sanding disc plate clean.
4. Peel the backing from the new sanding disc, align the disc with the plate and press
the sanding disc firmly on to the plate.
5. Reinstall the disc dust port, work table, and locking knobs.
8. Product disposal

• Store sanding accessories away from extremely hot/dry
temperatures.
• Store sanding accessories flat - not bent or folded.
• Use a finer-grit sanding accessory.
• Sand with the grain of the wood.
• Reduce pressure on workpiece while sanding.
• Keep workpiece moving while sanding on the sanding
accessory.
• Reduce pressure on workpiece while sanding.
• Use different stock/sanding accessories or accept that this
will happen and plan on cleaning or replacing belts/discs
frequently.
• Use a coarser grit sanding accessory.
• Reduce sanding pressure on workpiece
• Do not keep workpiece in one place for too long.
• Clean or replace the disc or belt.
• Connect the tool to an outlet.
• Contact customer service for assistance
• Contact customer service for assistance.
• Inspect cord or plug for damaged insulation and shorted
wires.
• Inspect all connections on motor for loose or shorted
terminals and/or worn insulation.
• Install correct fuses or circuit breakers or switch tool to an
appropriately sized circuit.
• Reduce load on motor (pressure on object being sanded).
• Utilize an extension cord of appropriate gauge and length
or plug tool directly into outlet.
