THE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
STARTING THE ENGINE
Before starting the engine for the first time check the following points:
1.
The fuel tank has been filled with diesel fuel. (Refer to fuel
specification).
Note: All dieselengines machinesare despatched with thefuelsystem
already vented and asmall amountoffuelisieftinthetank with the tap
(A Fig. 18) in the 'ON' position. If the engine has been allowed to run
dry or the tap has been turned off the fuel system must be vented (see
separate instruction, see page 26).
2.
Engine sump
has been filled with the correct lubricating oil.
(Refer toengine specification.) Check level with dipstick
(A Fig. 17).
3.
Radiator (A Fig. 19) has been filled with a 50% antifreeze
solution for coolant.
