• If the power cable is damaged immediately dis-
connect the plug. Never use the device if the
power cable is damaged.
• If the device is not in use make sure the plug is
pulled out.
• Make sure that the device is switched off before
plugging in the mains cable.
• Make sure that the device is switched off before
unplugging it.
• Disconnect the power supply before transporting
the device.
• If the power connection cable of this device is
damaged, it must be replaced by the manufac-
turer or the manufacturer's customer service
department or a similarly qualified person in order
to prevent risks.
Maintenance
• Before conducting any maintenance on the
device, disconnect the mains plug.
• Only those maintenance and fault elimination
tasks described here may be carried out. Any
other tasks must be completed by a specialist.
• Only use original replacement parts. Only these
replacement parts are designed and suitable for
the device. Other replacement parts will not only
lead to an invalidation of the warranty, they may
also endanger you and your environment.
Device-specific safety instructions
• Only pump clean water! Never pump sand or
other abrasive media.
• The minimum flow per hour must be 80 l/h (1.3 l/
min).
• These devices are not designed to be used to
implement drip irrigation since the water flow is
too low and the cooling of the device by the con-
veyed medium would no longer be ensured.
• If your device does not have an integrated pre-fil-
ter, a pre-filter is recommended in order to filter
sand and small particles from the water.
• A non-return valve must be used between the
suction hose and the suction connection. This
prevents air in the suction hose.
• The suction hose conducts the water from the
water source to the device. Connect the suction
hose to the threaded connection. Pay attention to
ensure that the connection of the suction hose is
sealed, since leaks will influence the performance
of the device and may even make suction impos-
sible. The suction hose should have a minimum
diameter of 25 mm (1") and be bend and vacuum
resistant. It is recommended to use a suction
hose with foot valve.
• Use Teflon tape to seal the connection (12–15 lay-
ers).
• Make sure that there is sufficient water available
in the water source and the suction end of the
suction hose is always under water.
• Since the maximum suction lift of self-priming
pumps is 8 m, the height of the device above the
water level at the extraction point may thus be a
maximum of 8 m. The suction hose must be on a
continuous rise from the water source to the pump
in order to ensure that no air bubbles are formed
in the hose that may interfere with the operation of
the device. If the device does not have an inte-
grated pre-filter, it is recommended to install a
pre-filter between the suction hose and the suc-
tion connection.
• The connection for the pressure hose is located
on the top of the device. A hose or pipe with as
large a diameter as possible (at least 19 mm, ¾")
should be connected to the pressure connection.
• Smaller diameters lower the conveyancing perfor-
mance of the device considerably. Use Teflon
tape to seal the connection (12–15 layers).
• Remember that with a house irrigation system,
the connected pipes are under permanent pres-
sure. For this reason, the device must be con-
nected to a permanent network using an
armoured hose that is capable of withstanding
this permanent pressure.
• The use of garden hoses or suction hoses on the
pressure side of the device is forbidden if the pipe
is under permanent pressure since the perma-
nent pressure may cause wear and material
fatigue and result in the hose bursting or tearing
even after a short time. Garden hoses may only
be used if the hose is not under permanent pres-
sure, for example, after a cut-off valve or water
tap, but only outside closed spaces.
• Do not expose the appliance to rain. Do not use
the appliance in wet areas.
• Do not use the appliance in potentially explosive
areas or in the vicinity of flammable liquids or
gases!
• Do not direct the water jet at the appliance or
other electrical parts! Risk of fatal injury due to
electric shock!
• Lay the extension cable so that it cannot get into
the liquid to be pumped.
• Do not install and switch on the unit when there
are people or animals in the medium to be con-
veyed (e. g. swimming pool) or have contact with
such.
• Do not leave the unit unattended. If leaving it for
any period of time, unplug.
• Remember that moving parts may also be located
behind ventilation and venting slots.
• Symbols affixed to your tools may not be removed
or covered. Information on the device that is no
longer legible must be replaced immediately.
Read and observe the operating instruc-
tions before commissioning.
