9. Connection

a) Audio connection
The DMX controller can be controlled my the music using the integrated microphone or the AUDIO connec-
tion (20). When the integrated microphone is used, the AUDIO connection (20) may remain free.
Connect the AUDIO connection (20) only to analogue audio outputs.
• When the DMX controller is to be operated controlled by the sound from an external audio device (e.g.
mixer), first connect a free audio output of the audio device to the AUDIO connection (20).
The AUDIO connection (20) sensitivity is 0.1-1 Vpp.

b) Connecting "MIDI" devices

The DMX controller may also be controlled by an external MIDI device. For more on this, see "MIDI Con-
trol" in these instructions.
Connect the MIDI port (21) only to MIDI outputs of MIDI devices. Use a suitable MIDI line for
this.
• Connect the MIDI output of your MIDI device to the MIDI port (21).

c) Effect light connection

Only connect the device to a DMX device with a DMX-512 protocol.
You can operate a maximum of 32 devices in a DMX chain without overloading the controller.
The maximum total length of the DMX chain should not exceed 500 m.
Use of XLR microphone cables may cause interferences in the DMX signal transmission. In this
case, please use special DMX high-frequency cables.
• Connect the DMX OUT port (23) to the input of the first DMX effect light.
• Connect the DMX output of the first DMX effect light to the DMX input of the subsequent device.
• Proceed as described above for all other effect lights.
• Plug a 120 Ohm/0.25 W terminator into the DMX output of the last device of the DMX chain (between Pin2
and Pin3).
