Important safety information for users
DE
Dear MHZ Customer,
Congratulations on choosing your new, high-quality MHZ product.
When it comes to safety, MHZ exterior roller blinds are state of the art.
However, we feel it is our duty to ensure you are familiar with the
safety information given here. Follow the operating instructions and
your product will continue to serve you well for many years to come.

Reading the operating instructions
You must read the operating instructions before using the exterior
roller blind for the first time. It is important to follow these instructions
FR
to ensure people's safety. Any failure to do so absolves the manufac-
turer of any liability. All instructions are to be kept by the customer
for future reference and must be passed on to the new owner if the
exterior roller blind is sold.
Operation
Caution: Risk of crushing.
Children and people who cannot accurately assess the risks of incorrect
or improper use must never operate the exterior roller blind. Store
remote radio controls in a place that is outside their operating range.
NL
There must be no obstructions within the exterior roller blind's range of moti-
on. Do not touch moving parts while the blind is being retracted or extended.
Prevent the blind being extended unintentionally when maintenance
is being performed on the window or facade.
Always retract the exterior roller blind in good time at the first sign of
bad weather, storms or frost and do not use it until the weather is fine
again. The same applies to rain or snowfall.
If a blind is wet or damp when retracted, it must be extended again
as soon as the rain has stopped to allow it to dry.
Use in windy conditions
The exterior roller blind is tested to EN 13561:2015 and achieves
wind resistance class 2 with the window closed.
EN
The wind resistance class according to EN 13561 does not allow
any conclusion to be drawn about the suitability for use (retraction/
extension, intermediate positions as well as noise development)
under actual wind load, therefore we, as the manufacturer, indicate
the maximum speed above which the external roller blind is to be
retracted.
Up to 1.5 m² area, max. 6 m/s (21 km/h; Beaufort scale 4)
Up to 2.0 m² area, max. 5 m/s (18 km/h; Beaufort scale 3)
Up to 2.64 m² area, max. 4 m/s (14 km/h; Beaufort scale 3)
The blind must be retracted fully as soon as the relevant value is
exceeded, if not before.
With the window open, these values decrease individually, depen-
ES
ding on the specific local conditions.

Use in sunny conditions
Please note that, depending on the transparency of the fabric and the
amount of light getting in around the sides of the blind, UVA and UVB
rays can still find their way into the room. So the blind can slow down
the bleaching process for furniture, but it cannot stop it completely.
Maintenance/care
Care and cleaning
Frame: All aluminium parts are powder-coated and therefore
–
weather-resistant. We still recommend cleaning the aluminium parts
with water and a commercially available cleaning agent at regular
intervals (do not use aggressive or abrasive agents).
Blind: MHZ blinds are mould-resistant and dirt-repellent.
–
First wipe off any dirt with a dry cloth then wash with lukewarm
–
water and a pH-neutral cleaning agent if necessary. Do not use
aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents, as this may wash away the
waterproofing. You may want to perform a patch test by cleaning an
inconspicuous area first.
Maintenance
Safe and reliable use of the exterior roller blind can only be guaranteed
if the unit is checked and maintained on a regular basis. The following
steps should be carried out regularly, but at least once a year:
Investigate further at the first signs of any wear or damage to the
–
blind or frame.
Inspect the fixation points where the side guide rails of the exterior roller
–
blind are attached.
We recommend cleaning the solar panels and the exterior roller
–
blind regularly.
If damage or unusual noises are detected, the specialist retailer or
a suitable service company must be commissioned to carry out the
repairs. Units requiring repair must not be used.
Using a product that is not in good working condition could cause
injury to people or animals and damage to property.
