8. Placement of the Clear Water Pump

• Attach a sufficiently strong, water-tight rope to the carry handle (2) to lower the clear water pump, e.g. into a well.
The clear water pump must never be held by the mains cable or attached by the hose! This may damage
the mains cable; there is danger to life from electric shock!
Fasten the rope to a suitable holder.
Never put the clear water pump with the intake opening into dirt, sludge or leaf residue, e.g. in a rain barrel, because
this will clog the pump.
• For hose connection, the included L-shaped hose adapter must be used. Depending on the hose diameter used,
the hose adapter must be shortened accordingly. Proceed in the same manner if the screw thread of the hose
adapter is to be used for connection.

9. Commissioning

• First choose the desired operating mode ("MANUAL" = manual or "AUTO" = automatic) with the rotary button (5)
at the top of the clear water pump.
In manual operation ("MANUAL"), the clear water pump works continually; in automatic operation ("AUTO"), the
float switch is active and will switch the clear water pump on or off depending on water level.
Pull the rotary button (5) up and then turn it to the left until it locks in the desired position ("AUTO" or "MANUAL").
• After lowering the clear water pump into the well, etc. by a rope, plug the mains plug into a properly installed
protective ground mains socket.
This must be an IP44 mains socket for operation in the outdoor area.
The mains plug must only be plugged into the mains socket when dry. There is danger to life from electric
shock otherwise!
• If manual operation is selected or if the clear water pump is in water and the float switch has triggered, the clear
water pump will start to work at once.

It may take a moment for water to be conveyed, since the pump first needs to displace the air in it.
• In case of automatic operation ("AUTO"), the clear water pump is switched off via the float switch when the water
level drops below a certain level and switched on when it rises again.
• If you no longer need the clear water pump, pull the mains plug from the socket.
