Taking Measurements

Caution! When taking current measurements, the measuring
cables must be removed from the unit.
For all other measurements please use the provided measur-
ing cables.
First connect the black measuring cable to the COM jack (9)
and then connect the red measuring cable to the Input jack
(10).
Switch on the digital clamp meter by turning the rotary function
switch (13) to the desired measuring function. If the batteries
of the clamp meter are spent, the battery icon
the display. Replace all three batteries.
Turn the rotary function switch to the desired measuring
function. In manual measuring range mode select the highest
range when the value to be measured is unknown.
Measuring AC Current via Current Clamp
The current clamp can measure the
current by measuring the magnetic field
around a live conductor. This does not
work if phase (usually black) and neutral
(usually blue) are measured together.
Place the clamp only around one wire.
1. First remove the measuring cables
before measuring current via the clamp!
2. Set the rotary function switch (13) to the
A~ range position for measuring alter-
nating current.
3. Use the range switch key RAN (7) to select auto range mode
or manual range mode.
4. Press the current clamp trigger (4) to open the clamp. Fully
enclose the conductor to be measured with the clamp. Re-
