2. Einleitung

Die Pendelzugsteuerung für Wechselstrombahnen
Art.-Nr. 5204 (im weiteren Text AC-Pendelzug-
steuerung genannt) steuert den automatischen
Pendelverkehr zwischen Bahnhöfen oder Halte-
punkten und wird auf Dreileitergleisen betrieben.
Sie arbeitet in beiden Fahrtrichtungen und nur mit
Wechselspannung. Sie bietet:
- einstellbares langsames Anfahren und Bremsen,
- Steuerung von 2 Licht-Blocksignalen,
- Aufenthaltszeit wählbar von 5 bis 60 Sekunden
oder zufälliger Zeit,
- halbautomatischen Betrieb.
Die AC-Pendelzugsteuerung benötigt keine exter-
nen Schaltkontakte, da sie über die eingebauten
Gleisbesetztmelder jedes Fahrzeug mit leitenden
Achsen automatisch erkennt.

3. Montage

Die AC-Pendelzugsteuerung wird über die Befes-
tigungsösen, die seitlich aus dem Kühlkörper
herausragen, mit den beiliegenden Schrauben an
der Anlagenplatte festgeschraubt. Wir empfehlen
dringend eine senkrechte Montage, so dass küh-
lende Luft von unten die Kühlrippen durchströmen
kann.
Vorsicht:
Der Kühlkörper kann sich beim Betrieb stark
erwärmen. Vermeiden Sie bitte eine direkte
Berührung des Kühlkörpers. Keinesfalls darf die
AC-Pendelzugsteuerung abgedeckt werden,
damit es nicht zu einem Wärmestau kommt.
Stecken Sie vorsichtig mit leichtem Druck die 4
beiliegenden roten Drehknöpfe in die Schlitze der
4 Einstellregler, die vertieft in den runden Gehäu-
seöffnungen sitzen. Achten Sie dabei darauf, dass
das pfeilförmige Ende an der Achse der Knöpfe
mit der Form des entsprechenden Schlitzes an
den Einstellreglern übereinstimmt (s. Abb 1).

2. Introduction

The shuttle service control module for AC trains
with item-No. 5204 (simply called shuttle service
control in this document) controls the automatic
shuttle service between stations or low priority
stops and is operated on 3-rail tracks. It works in
both directions of travel and is suitable only for AC
supply. It offers:
- Adjustable slow acceleration and braking,
- Control of two daylight block signals,
- Adjustable stopping time between 5 and 60
seconds or random timing,
- Semi-automatic operation.
This AC-shuttle service control module does not
require any external contacts since it operates
with the integral track occupancy detector and
thus recognises any vehicle with conducting axes.

3. Mounting

The shuttle service control is to be mounted on
the layout base by means of the supplied screws,
which have to be inserted through the fixing lugs
projecting from the side of the heat sink. Simply
tighten the screws after inserting them through the
holes on the mounting brackets fastened to the
heat sink. We strongly recommend vertical instal-
lation to allow cool air to flow past the heat sink.
Caution:
Do not touch the heat sink; it may become very
hot during operation. Never cover the AC-shuttle
service control module since this could lead to
thermal overload.
Carefully insert the 4 red knobs into the slots of
the 4 control switches that are recessed into the
housing. Please make sure that the arrows on the
knobs line up with the pointed ends on the slots
(s. fig. 1).
