Before first Use
Take out the unit from the packaging. Keep packaging materials out of reach of
small children. There is risk of suffocation!
For using, connect the unit with the on board socket (cigarette lighter
socket).
1. Connect the adaptor plugs (C) to each other. Insert the plug (A) into the
vehicle voltage socket of your vehicle. The socket has to be still live while
extracting the ignition key. Otherwise the battery cannot be charged.
2. Place the solar panel (D) on a spot and make sure that direct sunlight shines
on the unit, e.g. dashboard, front screen or rear screen.
3. Switch off all power consuming units in the car, such as lights, radio, air-
conditioning heaters etc. As long as the sun sufficiently shines on the solar
panel the indicator lamp (E) flashes and the battery is charged.
Hints:
With direct sunlight, the solar panel provides 12 V with an ampacity of 100 mA.
If necessary, you can leave the unit connected overnight. Because of a protective
circuit the battery cannot be completely discharged.
If you want to directly connect the battery charger to a 12 V battery, use a
suitable, fuse-protected (5 A) adaptor.
Mounting inside and outside of the vehicle
You can also firmly mount the solar panel inside the vehicle. To do this,
fasten two screws with a distance of 19.8 cm e. g. on the rear screen shelf.
Just hang the panel on the screws.
Before mounting the screws, make sure not to damage any cables under-
neath the shelf. Before starting a drive, remove the solar panel from the
screws. Keep in mind that the solar panel is only suspended on the screws
and not firmly mounted.
If necessary, e.g. the vehicle is in the garage, you can position the solar panel
outside the vehicle.
Please note that the solar panel is only splash-proof and should not be placed
permanently outdoors. Before using the unit permanently outdoors, apply
suitable sealants to all joints and panel edges, such as clear silicone sealant.
