If you want to connect or disconnect a tool and/or a hose, you must first set the pressure relief valve
handle on the pump to the pressure relief position. After connecting the hose(s) and the tool you must
set the pressure relief valve handle to the operation position so you can use the tool.
5.2
Compressed air source
The pump must be connected to a compressed air source with a minimum capacity of 0.56 m
maximum pressure of 8 bar.
•
Install a filter-lubricator unit (Fig. 10) suitable for that capacity in the air hose to the pump.
A filter-lubricator unit consists of: an air filter with water separator, a pressure regulator and a mist
lubricator.
•
Set the mist lubricator at one drop per minute. Use SAE 10 oil.
5.3
Foot pedal
5.3.1
AHS 1400 FS
The foot pedal operates an air valve to start or stop the pump.
•
Start the pump by pressing the pedal at the "PUMP" side.
•
Stop the pump by removing the foot from the foot pedal. The pump stops and the pressure is
maintained.
•
Depressurize the pump by clicking the pedal at the "RELEASE" side. The hydraulic pressure
discharges from the system.
5.3.2
AHS 1400 D
The foot pedal operates an air valve to start or stop the pump.
•
Turn the control valve handle to the side A or B where the pressure must be developed.
•
Start the pump by pressing the pedal at the "PUMP" side.
•
Stop the pump by removing the foot from the foot pedal. The pump stops and the pressure is
maintained.
•
Depressurize the pump by turning the valve control handle to its neutral position.
5.4
Connect the hydraulic hoses
5.4.1
General
WARNING
Never use damaged couplers.
CAUTION
Never use pliers or similar to connect the hydraulic couplers.
5.4.2
Connect the High-Flow couplers
Refer to Fig. 4.
WARNING
Always make sure that the pressure relief valve is in the open (0) position, before you
connect hydraulic hose(s) to the pump.
•
Remove the dust caps from the female and male couplers.
•
Check the couplers for dirt and damage and clean them if necessary.
