Meaning
Configure active and passive detection. Du-
ring the ip address configuration, if you
set the detection to 'active', then the de-
vice sends ARP or NDP probes into the net-
work, and if you set the detection to
'passive', then the device listens conti-
nuously on the network.
Configure only active detection. During ip
address configuration 'active' the device
sends only one ARP or NDP probe into the net-
work.
Configure passive detection. The device lis-
tens passively on the network to verify that
another device does not have the same ip ad-
dress assigned.
