that the chain oil would not or only a small
part of it would reach the underside of the
rail and the lubrication would be reduced.
Mounting the saw chain and
blade bar (guide rail)
1. Place the blade bar (10) on the coach
screws (26a) and push it against the
chain sprocket (27) to make it easier to
put the saw chain on.
2. Thread the saw chain (9)over the chain
sprocket (27).
3. On the blade bar (10), start to insert
the saw chain (9) into the blade bar
groove, towards the tip of the blade
bar. It is normal for the saw chain (9) to
sag.
4. Pull the blade bar (10) forward to put
tension on the saw chain (9).
5. Put the chain wheel cover (13) back in
position.
6. Slightly tighten the two nuts (15) of the
sprocket cover (13).
7. Tension the saw chain (9) by turning
the small screw (14) clockwise.
If the saw chain (9) does not ten-
sion, check that the lug (30) in
the sprocket cover engages in the re-
cess (29) on the blade bar.
Removing/mounting the
saw chain
Caution! Please be aware that the
petrol chainsaw may leak oil after
use if it is stored on its side or head.
This is a normal occurrence and is caused
by the ventilation opening on the top edge
of the tank which is a necessary compo-
nent; this is not grounds for complaint.
Since every petrol chainsaw is inspected
and tested using oil during manufacture, a
small amount of oil may remain in the tank
after emptying, which may slightly dirty the
housing during transport. Please clean the
housing with a cloth.
Removing the saw chain
1. Switch off the device, disconnect the
spark plug connector (
the device cool down.
2. Place the device on a level surface.
3. Pull the chain brake lever (12) to the
front handle (1).
4. Turn the small screw (14) with the com-
bination tool (17) anticlockwise in or-
der to remove the tension from the saw
chain (9).
5. Unscrew the two nuts (15) of the spro-
cket cover (13) using the combination
tool (17).
6. Remove the sprocket cover (13).
7. Push the blade bar (10) towards the
chain sprocket (27) and remove the
saw chain (9).
Prior to changing the saw chain, the
groove of the guide rail must be cleaned
of dirt because dirt deposits available
can cause the saw chain to break out of
the rail. The deposits can also absorb the
chain oil. So the consequence would be
that the chain oil would not or only a small
part of it would reach the underside of the
rail and the lubrication would be reduced.
