Care of the guide bar :
Turn the bar over - every time you sharpen the
chain - and every time you replace the chain.
This will prevent one-sided wear, especially on
the nose and underside of the bar.
Clean regularly
1 = Oil inlet hole
2 = Oil passage
3 = Rail groove
Checking and replacing the sprocket
Replace the sprocket
a. after using two chains or earlier
b. when the wear marks (dimension deeper than
0.02 in (0.5 mm) - the life of the a) on the
sprocket and chain would otherwise be re-
duced.

Check the hedge trimmer for loosened bolts on the blade
bar and tighten as necessary.
Remove any stuck grass clippings.

Maintain the blade bar with an oil spray or oil can.
•
Lubricate at 20 hour intervals through the grease fitting.
•
Use high temperature and pressure lithium based grease
to lubricate your machine.
Dirty air filters reduce engine performance due to insufficient
air supply to the carburetor.
Regular inspection is therefore essential. The air filter (I) should
be checked every 25 hours of operation and cleaned if neces-
sary. If the air is very dusty, check the air filter more frequently.
Loosen the air filter cover (1) and remove the sponge filter ele-
ment. Replace the air filter cover to prevent objects from falling
into the air tank. Wash the filter element in warm soapy water,
rinse and allow to air dry.
Reassemble in reverse order.
