2. Remove the terminal box cover on the outside
terminal box.
3. Guide the power cable into the terminal box.
4. Attach the required cable screw connections
and blind plugs (provided by the customer) to
the terminal box, guide the power cable
through the cable screw connection into the
terminal box and secure it with the tension re-
lief.

5. Wiring fan to the electrics in accordance with
the circuit diagram. Tightening torque of ter-
minals 1 Nm. Ensure PE conductor connec-
tion.
6. Install appropriate overload protection (PTC
thermistor triggering system) → Overload pro-
tection chapter and Maico's range of ac-
cessories at www.maico-ventilatoren.com.
7. Put the terminal box cover on and screw it into
place. NOTICE: Risk of short circuits if ter-
minal box not watertight. Ensure correct line
feedthrough and cable screw connections/
blind plugs.
8. Switch the mains fuse on.
13 Earth connection
Properly earth fans, installed in outdoor
areas, in accordance with IEC 60364-5-54:2011.
Take into consideration the requirements of
earthing systems, PE conductors and protect-
ive bonding conductors. Attach a conductor
eye to the PE conductor and screw it down
properly to the fan housing so that they have
stable electrical continuity and sufficient
mechanical protection and strength. Ensure
equipotential bonding before commissioning
the fan.
1. Securely screw the earth conductor to the fan
housing (tightening torque 10 Nm).
2. Ensure equipotential bonding before commis-
sioning the fan.

14 Commissioning

CAUTION Hearing damage. DAR fans can
be very loud when running; depending on the
unit type, they may get up to 105 dB(A).
Wear hearing protection when working in loud
work environments.
Checks before commissioning
1. Ensure that all specifications listed in Installa-
tion instructions and the electrical specifica-
tions in Connection information for electrics
are observed.
2. Check that all screw connections are tight.
3. Ensure that the impeller can be freely turned
by hand.
