6. Cleaning and care
6.1 Cleaning exterior
• Switch off the appliance before cleaning and disconnect
the mains plug.
• Allow the appliance to cool down completely before
cleaning it.
GB
• Clean the parts that come into contact with coffee
(jug, filter holder etc.) after each use.
• You can clean the housing with a soft, moist cloth.
• The glass jug with lid, the filter and the lids of the bean
container and the water tank are dishwasher-safe.
• When cold, the keep-warm plate can be cleaned
with a soft, moist cloth.
• Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents.
• Use the included brush
• For continuously optimum coffee results, we recom-
mend cleaning the bean container, the grinder and
the ground coffee chute regularly. This is
easiest when the bean container and the
grinder are ground completely empty.
6.2 Cleaning the grinder
Note: You can call up cleaning and care
instructions by using the QR code. The
QR code is located on the appliance underneath the
bean container. You will see
it when you remove the bean container.
Completely emptying the grinder
• To simplify cleaning, the bean container should be
completely empty.
• If there are only a few beans left in the appliance, set
the appliance to 2 cups and one bean in GRIND mode.
Press the GRIND button and allow the appliance to
grind itself empty.
Removing the bean container
• Turn the bean container anti-clockwise and
remove it from the appliance.
Cleaning the grinder
• Turn the grinding fineness regulator to "Open" .
• Lift up the handle and pull the grinder ring out of
the mill .
• Pull the silicone ring off the disc carrier . Clean
the grinder disc and the disc carrier with the inclu-
ded brush.
• Coffee powder left over in the grinder ring between
the grinder disc and disc carrier can be removed by
lightly knocking it out of the openings on the upper
side of the disc carrier or by vacuuming with a
vacuum cleaner.
• After cleaning the grinder ring, you need to fit the
gasket on the disc carrier again. The grinder ring
bracket first needs to be folded up to do this. The
rectangular studs on the silicone ring need to be
pushed into the openings on the disc carrier as far
as possible. The gasket must rest evenly and without
gaps on the disc carrier
• You can also clean the mill with the brush. Push the
left-over coffee powder towards the mill outlet
We recommend using a vacuum cleaner to comple-
tely remove all the coffee powder residues.
• Coffee can be deposited on the mill outlet
time that can lead to blockages. Therefore, you also
need to clean this area occasionally. Push the hard
bristles on the brush into the outlet to clean it.

Note: If the outlet is completely blocked, it will not
be possible to grind any more coffee. The appliance
will switch off automatically in this case. You will
hear a long signal sound. Stubborn left-over powder
in the outlet, which you cannot remove with the
brush, can be removed with a slim tool (e.g. the end
of a spoon or a short screwdriver). By inserting the
tool carefully into both openings of the ground coffee
chute (picture), you can loosen the powder residue.
• Before inserting the grinder ring after cleaning, you
need to set the grinding fineness regulator to the
OPEN position .
• The three studs on the outside of the grinder ring
need to be inserted into their guides in the housing
• To do this, one of the three triangles on the seal
needs to be positioned opposite the triangle on the
housing
.
g
• In this position, press the grinder ring downwards
as far as possible and push the grinding fineness
regulator out of the OPEN position into a grinding
position. If fitted correctly, the grinder ring can now
no longer be pulled out of the mill.
Cleaning the mill outlet
• Coffee particles can become electrostatically charged
during the grinding process. As a result, coffee
powder may not fall completely into the filter and be
partly deposited on the housing.
• To avoid this, the coffee powder is electrostatically
discharged at the mill outlet.
• To continuously maintain this function, the housing
slits at the mill outlet need to be free of coffee
powder and should be cleaned with the soft bristles
of the brush every 4 to 6 weeks depending on the
appliance usage
.
h
Fitting bean container
• Position the bean container as horizontally as possible
on the mill housing in the removal position.
• The mark in the bean container needs to be pointing
to the front
.
j
• Press the bean container down gently and turn it
clockwise to the stop. The appliance is now ready for
operation again.
7. Signal sounds
Switching off the brewing end signal
The appliance needs to be in brewing mode to switch
off the brewing end signal. This is indicated by the
BREW LED flashing rapidly. Pressing the buttons for
cup selection, strength selection and the BREW button
at the same time will deactivate the brewing end signal.
Proceed in the same way to switch them on again.
Deactivating all signal sounds
All signal sounds can also be deactivated if necessary.
The appliance needs to have been switched off to do
this. Pressing the BREW and GRIND buttons at the
same time (>1 sec.) deactivates all signal sounds. This
is indicated by two LEDs lighting up briefly. Proceed
in the same way to switch them on again. You will
.
hear a brief signal sound upon activation.
