3.7 BLADE ADJUSTMENT

The sliding doors (C Fig. 12) for the discharging of the seeds
from the hopper, have three adjustment positions (Fig. 14):
1) Position 0: when the blade is completely lowered it closes
the seed discharge slot completely and shuts out the
distributor roller to which seeds no longer flow.
2) Position 1: by raising the sliding doors to the first setting, the
medium aperture position indicated in the enclosed table
forsmall seeds is obtained because the discharge slot
comes to be only partially opened.
3) Position 2: this is the position of maximum aperture that is
indicated for medium and large-sized seeds.

3.8 SOWING DEPTH ADJUSTMENT

Good sprouting requires the seed to be sown at the right depth in
the seedbed. Coulters that work in the tracks of the seeder or
the tractor should be set to greater pressure.
3.8.1 SHOES COULTER
Sowing depth is determined by the adjustment screw (Fig. 15,
ref. A): loosen the nut and turn the screw to adjust sowing depth.
Tighten the nut to lock the adjustment screw in place.
Use the crank (Fig. 16) to increase (+) or decrease (-) planter
coulter spring pressure, on the basis of the type of terrain being
sown. The pressure of the individual springs can also be adjusted
through the position of the chain links (Fig. 15, ref. B).
In the external rows raise or lower the pressure by adjusting the
screw (A Fig. 17) and locking it with the nut (B).
3.8.2 SINGLE-DISC COULTER
The depth is determined by changing the position of the limiter
block (A Fig. 18) by changing its position with the lever (B Fig. 18),
only with single-disc coulters (furrow openers). Use the crank
(Fig. 16) to increase (+) or decrease (-) planter coulter spring
pressure, on the basis of the type of terrain being sown. The
pressure of the individual springs can also be adjusted through
the position of the chain links (Fig. 15, ref. B).

3.9 ADJUSTMENT OF THE DISTANCE BETWEEN ROWS

The width of the planting unit and the number of the furrow
openers determine the distance between rows. To change the
interrow distance, follow the diagrams shown in the Spare Parts
Booklet according to the type of furrow opener (hoe, single disc,
double disc). To increase or decrease the interrow distance for
sowing, remove or add furrow openers as follows (Fig. 19):
- unscrew the nut (A) and the screws (B).
- Once the desired number of the coulters has been obtained
they must all be set at the same distance (measured at the
coulters), and the screws tightened again.
- Make sure that only the sliding doors of the distributors that
have the telescoping tube (Fig. 20, C) are open; all the others
must be closed.
