Change of cooling water in the

The cooling liquid should be changed regularly in order to avoid growth of
bacteria, which would disintegrate the liquid and thus make it change its
qualities. Change of liquid would depend on such factors as the quality of
the water, the ambient temperature and the frequency of use. However, we
suggest that change of liquid at intervals of 3-4 weeks would be a good
starting point.
The liquid is changed as follows:
Disinfect the cooling liquid the day before by adding 0,2%
corresponding to 24 ml bacterial disinfectant BACTE to the recirculating
cooling unit.
Hereby the recirculating cooling unit is disinfected and new attacks are
prevented.
Throw out the cooling liquid.
The easiest way to do this is to let the pump almost empty the unit after
removing the pump tube from the inlet valve of Accutom-2 and lead it to
the outlet. Thus the unit is easier to carry.
Cooling liquids may contain agents which makes it illegal to pour into
ordinary drains. Inquiries should be made with the local authorities.
Turn the L-outlet (fig. 2.6) piece of Accutom-2, so that it points upwards.
Remove the pump - use handle (fig. 2.11).
Remove the front plate of the recirculating cooling unit and take the
vessel out and clean it of sedimented cutting scrap.
Re-mount the vessel and fill it with water, 11.5 l, then add additive and
stir to spread the additive.
When using ADDUN apply from 2-6% = 230-690 ml. 2% is used if the
cut-off wheel has to cut freely, typically when cutting metals.
6% is used if a lubricating effect is desired, which gives the cutting a
low surface roughness.
Replace the pump.
The pump unit must be full of liquid before starting. This will occur naturally
if the pump is lowered slowly into place in the liquid in the recirculation unit.
It could still be necessary to remove any air which may be trapped in the
pump unit using the enclosed 20 ml syringe.
Fill the syringe slowly by drawing up the liquid through the pump's
tubing.
Then empty the syringe quickly, again through the pump's tubing.
If necessary this operation should be repeated.
