• Before plugging the appliance into the mains socket, ensure that the voltage
shown on the rating plate matches the local voltage supply.
• The use of extensions not approved by the manufacturer can result in damage
to property and personal injury.
• Do not use extension leads or outlets with inadequate current carrying capacity.
• Always connect the iron to an earthed socket.
• Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
• Do not use the appliance if your hands are wet or if you are barefoot.
• Do not use the appliance if the power cord or the plug are damaged, or if the ap-
pliance is faulty. To prevent any accident, all repairs, including the replacement
of the power cord, must be carried out by an Authorised Service Centre or, in any
case, by qualified personnel.
• Do not plug any other high power appliance (electric heaters, irons, radiators,
etc.) into the same socket. Danger of electric overload.
• Do not set the hot parts of the appliance on the power cord.
• Do not pull the power cord to unplug the appliance.
• Do not leave the power cord against sharp edges or sharp parts.
• Make sure that the power cord does not come into contact with hot surfaces.
• Do not move the appliance pulling it by the power cord.
• Remove the power cable from the socket-outlet in case of a thunderstorm.
• Never wrap the cord around your hand when the appliance is connected to the
mains.
• Before using the appliance make sure that the objects, surfaces and fabrics to be
treated are resistant to or compatible with high temperature steam. In particular
for brick floors, wood surfaces, delicate fabrics such as leather, silk or velvet, it
is recommended to consult the manufacturer's instructions and do a test on a
hidden part or on a sample.
• Do not use the squeegee brush if the surface to be treated is cold. Any thermal
shock could cause it to break. In seasons with particularly low temperatures,
pre-heat the glass using a jet of steam over the entire surface to be treated from
a distance of about 40 cm.
• On first use or after a long pause, direct the jet into a container to remove excess
water.
• Do not use the steam head on glass surfaces.
• Do not use the appliance with the cloth worn. Danger of the floor becoming dam-
aged and scratched.
• Always unwind the power cord before use.
• Using the appliance with no water in the boiler may damage the pump. Check
