General
Principle of the
digital series
TP 4000 CEL / TP 5000 CEL power source
The new power sources are fully digitised, microprocessor-controlled inverter
power sources. An interactive power-source manager is coupled with a digital si-
gnal processor, and together they control the entire welding process. The actual
data is measured continuously and the machine responds immediately to any
changes. The rule algorithms developed by Fronius ensure that the specified tar-
get status is maintained.
This gives the welding process an unrivalled degree of precision, with exact repro-
ducibility of all results and excellent weld properties.
Device concept
Typical features of the new machines are their tremendous flexibility and extre-
mely easy adaptability to many varied tasks. The reasons for these welcome cha-
racteristics may be found not only in the modular product design, but also in the
scope that the system gives for trouble-free system add-ons.
You can adapt your machine to practically any specific situation. For example, a
polarity reverser is available for the TP 4000 CEL / TP 5000 CEL power sources,
which enables the polarity on the welding current sockets to be changed rapidly.
Particularly when using Cel electrodes, this can achieve excellent root fusion du-
ring root pass welding.
A wide range of remote controls and TIG welding torches, as well as the space-
saving trolley concept, allow for perfect welding results in virtually every situati-
on, in the shortest possible time and with optimum ergonomics.
The remote controls are provided with different user-specific operating con-
cepts. The compact TP 08 wireless remote control is also available for manual
metal arc welding. This remote control enables wireless correction of the set wel-
ding current during pauses in the welding process.
Application are-
There are a vast number of application areas for the TP 4000 CEL / TP 5000
as
CEL in trade and industry. As regards their suitability for welding different mate-
rials, they are of course suitable for traditional steel and chrome/nickel.
The TP 4000 CEL / 5000 CEL with 380 or 480 A satisfy even the most deman-
ding requirements of the industry. They are designed for use in apparatus con-
struction, in chemical plant construction, in machinery and rail vehicle construc-
tion and in shipyards.
The TP 4000 CEL / 5000 CEL repres-
ents another important link in the new
generation of fully digitized power
sources. With the TP 4000 CEL / 5000
CEL, a fully digital power source is
available for the first time that is spe-
cially designed for the manual metal
arc welding and TIG welding processes
(with touchdown ignition).
