CONNECTING THE COOLANT PIPE
The main cause of coolant gas leaks is incorrect
preparation of the pipes for joining. To ensure proper
connection, proceed as follows:
1.Cut the pipes and the electric cables, taking care
that:
1a.The length of the pipes is slightly more than the
distance between internal unit and external unit.
1b.The length of the electric cables is approximately
1.5 m more than the length of the pipes.
1c.The pipes are cut at 90° to the axis, and the cut is
smooth and without burrs (fig. 12).
2. Remove any burrs from rigid pipes
2a.Remove all burrs from the cut section of pipes.
2b.When removing burrs, hold the pipe tilted
downward, to prevent fragments of copper from
falling into it (fig.13).
3.Fit the connection manifolds ( fig. 14).
Remove the nuts from the internal and external unit taps, on which they were
initially fitted, and fasten them to the deburred copper pipes (N.B. this operation
will not be possible once the bundles have been prepared).
4.Prepare the "bundles" (fig. 15)
Fit and lock the copper pipe in the hammer tool, using the following chart to
select the diameter.
5.Lock the pipes and tighten them.
5a.Centre the pipes on the corresponding valves, and screw them on by hand for
3 or 4 turns
5b.Lock the nuts using a dynamometer wrench, as indicated in fig. 16a and fig.
16b.
