If you want to install or uninstall a further interface on your PC after the

To home in on the problem, use the "Hardware" tab of the "Set PG/PC

Interface" tool (see Chapter 9).
If errors occur, first check whether the memory areas and interrupts
used by the Cardware are really free and not being used by other
components.
Since Windows NT 4.0 does not fully support Plug & Play, the
user is also responsible for handling resources. During
installation, the Cardware normally detects free memory areas,
there is however no 100% guarantee.
Problem Installing
If you install the Cardware from your SIMATIC NET product CD,
Cardware
skip this point. If you have purchased the Award Cardware separately,
remember the following points.
In this case, a so-called card enabler was installed. This must be
deactivated to operate the CP 5511.
There are two ways of deactivating the card enabler:
First method: Remove PCCARD.EXE from the Autostart menu of your PC

\WINNT\PROFILES\AllUsers\Startmenu\Programs\Autostart\PCCard

When you boot the PC, the card is no longer displayed. Cardware is
however activated. The CP 5511 can be operated.
Second method: Change the start type of PCENABLE.SYS to manual.

Reboot your PC
When you boot the PC, a PCMCIA card is displayed with the comment
"unable to get the card name". Cardware is however activated. The CP
5511 can be operated
