6.2 Cleaning

Remove the coff ee grounds from permanent fi lter or discard the paper fi lter with coff ee
grounds. Thoroughly rinse the permanent fi lter and fi lter holder under running water.
Rinse the coff ee pot. The device can be wiped with a damp cloth.
Dry all parts thoroughly.
WARNING

Do not clean the device when it is hot.

Never put the device in water or under running water.

Be sure to unplug the device before cleaning. To protect against electrical shock do
not immerse cord, plug or device in water or liquid.

6.3 Descaling

PLEASE NOTE

If needed descale also the permant fi lter.

Regularly decalcifying of your device will reduce the electricity used and prolong the
life of the device.

The guarantee excludes devices which have stopped working or do not work proper-
ly due to lack of descaling.
After a cycle of 50 brewing operations, the machine indicates that it needs to be
descaled. The symbol fl ashes in the display. The symbol will only stop fl ashing after
the descaling process. Depending on the hardness of the water, you should descale the
machine once a month. You can also start the descaling process manually at any time,
regardless of the reminder.

Fill the water tank with one quarter of white vinegar and three quarters of water.

Prepare the machine for operation without ground coff ee (as described under
'Before fi rst use').
3.
Set the fl avour regulator to 1.25 litres.
4.
Press and hold the ON/OFF button and the MIN button simultaneously for 3 seconds.

The ON/OFF button and the descaling symbol fl ash, and the process starts automa-
tically.
6.
The heating tube operates for 10 seconds and then stops for 20 seconds. After
about 15 minutes, the descaling process is fi nished, and the appliance switches to
standby mode.
7.
If the appliance is now switched on again, the descaling symbol no longer fl ashes.
8.
Afterwards, pour the vinegar-water mixture away.
9. Then let the appliance brew 1–2 times the maximum amount of water without
ground coff ee and repeat the process if necessary until you no longer notice the
smell of vinegar.
10. Pour away the water.
