types) which can present a hazard to the opera-
tor or persons in the vicinity. Make sure that the
workplace is well ventilated.
Always wear safety goggles, safety gloves and
respiratory protection. Attach a dust extraction
system.
1. Secure the workpiece. A workpiece that is re-
tained with clamping appliances or a vice is held
more securely than with your hand.
2. Only use the power tool for dry sanding. Do not
scrape moist materials. Penetration of water into
the power tool increases the risk of electric shock.
3. Avoid overheating the sanded object and the
sander itself. Possible fire hazard.
4. The workpiece gets hot during grinding. Do not
touch the machined area, allow it to cool down.
There is a risk of burning. Do not use coolants or
the like
5. Connect the appliance to a power socket with a
residual current circuit breaker of rated residu-
al current no more than 30 mA.
6. If the supply cord of this power tool is dam-
aged, it must be replaced by a specially pre-
pared cord available through the service or-
ganization.
Residual risks
Even if you use this electric power tool in ac-
cordance with instructions, certain residual
risks cannot be rules out. The following hazards
may arise in connection with the equipment's
construction and layout:
• Lung damage if no suitable protective dust mask
is used.
• Damage to hearing if no suitable ear protection
is used.
• Health damage caused by hand-arm vibrations if
the equipment is used over a prolonged period or
is not properly guided and maintained.

The specified vibration value was established in ac-
cordance with a standardized testing method. It may
change according to how the electric equipment is
used and may exceed the specified value in excep-
tional circumstances.
The specified vibration value can be used to compare
the equipment with other electric power tools.
The specified vibration value can be used for initial
assessment of a harmful effect.
Before starting the equipment
Before you connect the equipment to the mains sup-
ply make sure that the data on the rating plate are
identical to the mains data.
Warning! Always pull the power plug before mak-
ing adjustments to the equipment.
Installing the dust bag (Fig. 2)
Attach the dust bag (5) to the rear outlet opening (a)
of the device.
Attention! The dust bag (5) must always be in-
stalled when using the device.
Securing sanding/grinding paper using a clamp
(Fig. 3)
Only use sanding/grinding paper of the appropriate
size and suitable perforations.
1.
Lift the lever (7) on the front of the orbital sander.
Insert the sanding/grinding paper as far as possible
2.
into the open clamp and close the lever again.
Place the sanding/grinding paper taut over the or-
3.
bital plate (6) and clamp it again using the second
lever (7) on the rear of the orbital sander.
4.
Make sure that the perforations in the sanding/
grinding paper line up with the oscillating plate.
